On June 17, 2026 the Federal Trade Commission filed a complaint in the Northern District of California, FTC v. GM Universe Apps LTD., et al. The named defendants include Spiritual Nebula LTD. and Obrio LTD., both Cyprus limited companies. The FTC alleges the defendants ran “deceptive subscription schemes” involving “hidden costs and recurring charges, while failing to provide simple mechanisms to cancel subscriptions.” Preliminary injunction orders were filed on July 20, 2026 and the case is listed as pending.
These are allegations. No court has made a final finding, the defendants are contesting the case, and nothing here should be read as a verdict. We are reporting the record, not rendering one.
Worth knowing because the names differ. The Nebula app is listed on the US App Store under the seller name Spiritual Nebula Limited, which corresponds to the defendant Spiritual Nebula LTD. named in the FTC complaint.
As of September 2026, the US App Store listing shows Nebula as free to download with in-app purchases, and lists several separate entries all called “Premium subscription” at $2.99, $7.99, $29.99, $39.99 and $49.99, alongside a $9.99 Chat Balance top up and a $4.99 relationship check in. We are not claiming any one of those is the price you would be offered. That is rather the point: which one you land on is not something you can determine in advance.
The chat balance top up is how live advisor conversations are paid for. A balance that drains while you are talking is a different financial experience from a flat subscription, and it is the mechanism behind a lot of the “where did my money go” reviews.

No, and we are not going to say that. Nebula is a real app with a large and generally satisfied user base and a 4.6 star App Store rating. What is true is that the FTC filed a complaint on June 17, 2026 naming Spiritual Nebula LTD. and Obrio LTD. among the defendants, alleging deceptive subscription practices. Those are allegations in a pending case, the defendants are contesting them, and no court has ruled. You can read the case record yourself on ftc.gov.
