Who we are

Mend is built and operated by Raedus Labs (ABN 93 731 256 708), a sole trader based in Queensland, Australia. For the purposes of privacy law, Raedus Labs is the data controller for the personal information described here.

What we collect

Information you create in the app

• Your reflections and drafts — the text you write, the feelings and intensity you record, and the safer-wording drafts generated from them. This is personal, and some of it is sensitive content about your relationship. It is stored so the app can show it back to you and (only with your approval) share selected parts with a paired partner.
• Repair-session content — messages and agreements you and a paired partner create together in a guided repair conversation.

Account information

• A user ID — every session gets a unique account identifier, including anonymous sessions created before you sign up. This is how your reflections stay tied to you.
• Your email address — collected only if you create a permanent account (for example, to save a repair plan or start a subscription). Used to sign you in and, if needed, to contact you about your account.

Subscription information

• Purchase and subscription status — if you subscribe to Mend Plus, your purchase history and entitlement status are processed to unlock paid features. Payment itself is handled by Google Play; we do not receive or store your card details.

Usage and device information

• Analytics events and device identifiers — we record in-app actions (for example, screens viewed and key steps in onboarding) together with a device/analytics identifier, so we can understand how the product is used and improve it. These events are tied to your user ID.
• Push notification token — collected only if you turn on notifications, so we can send the gentle reminders you opted into.

We do not collect: your precise or approximate location, your contacts, your photos or videos, audio recordings, your calendar, health/fitness metrics, or your SMS/call logs.

How your reflections are processed by AI

When you ask Mend to analyze a reflection or soften a message, the text you wrote is sent from our servers to Google's Gemini API to generate the response, then returned to you. Only the text needed for that request is sent. We do not use your reflections to train our own models. Google's handling of API requests is governed by Google's own terms; we send this data solely to provide the feature you requested.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small set of service providers ("processors") to run the app; they process data on our behalf under their own terms:

Where your data is stored

Your account and app data are stored in Supabase's Sydney region (Australia, ap-southeast-2). Some processors listed above (for example, analytics and payment providers) may process data on servers in other countries under their own safeguards.

Keeping your reflections private (the trust rule)

Privacy is the core design of Mend, not an afterthought:

• A reflection is readable and writable only by you. A partner can never see your raw notes.
• Nothing crosses to a partner unless you flip a draft to "shared" and approve the specific sections that go across. This is enforced in our database access rules, not just in the interface.
• If you and a partner separate, or one of you deletes their account, each person keeps their own reflections and patterns — only the leaving person's own data is removed.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account (see below), your reflections, drafts, patterns, account, and analytics identity are deleted from our systems. Some records may persist for a short time in routine backups, and payment providers may retain transaction records they are legally required to keep.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to complain to a privacy regulator. To exercise any of these, contact team@raeduslabs.com.

• Access / correction — email us and we will help.
• Notifications — turn reminders off at any time in your device settings or in the app.
• Deletion — delete your account and data yourself in the app, or ask us to (see next section).

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app:

Profile → Delete account → type DELETE → confirm.

This permanently removes your reflections, drafts, patterns, and account. If you are paired, your partner keeps their own reflections and patterns — only your data is removed.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. If you have Mend Plus, cancel it first in Google Play → Subscriptions, or you may keep being charged.

Children

Mend is intended for adults in relationships and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact team@raeduslabs.com and we will remove it.

Security

We protect your data with row-level access controls that scope each person's reflections to them, encryption in transit, and server-side enforcement of the sharing rules described above. No system is perfectly secure, but privacy is the property we design around first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
